Happy Fall!
Hot air balloons in the air and after school literacy and origami. This year I am teaching origami every Wednesday in after school sessions. This is made possible by a grant through KNME. This wouldn't have happened without the lovely Hollie Lovely. Literacy is shared through viewing "Reading Rainbow" episodes, books , origami and storytelling. I continue to learn more from the kiddos than I teach them. I marvel at their designing. I am a huge fan of "kid art" and enjoy watching them decorate their origami models. The paper cup and hat continue to be such classics. Thank you to author and illustrator Rex Barron for assisting me with diagrams. It has been a treat to work with this talented man. Check out his site http://www.rexbarron.com/ and check out his whimsical books and great art.
I'll attempt to attach a complimentary hand out of the classic cup and hat. Enjoy it yourself and with children.
Let's continue to share peace with a piece of paper.
